Tiers: may be specified as single-tier (full height), two-tier, three-tier, etc., meaning that the lockers are stacked on top of each other in layers two high, three high, etc. Tiers are commonly up to eight high; on occasion, even more tiers may be found, in the case of very small lockers for such purposes as storing laptop computers. The most common numbers of tiers found in lockers are, in order, one, two, and four; three-tier lockers are rather less common, and other numbers such as five, six, or eight even less common still - seven almost non-existent. Since locker cabinets are most commonly 6 feet (182.9 cm.) high (although there are exceptions), the height of individual lockers varies according to how many tiers are accommodated within the cabinet. The height of individual lockers is usually approximately 6 feet (182.9 cm.) divided by the number of tiers, so that two-tier lockers are about 3 feet (91.4 cm.) high, three-tier lockers 2 feet (61 cm.) high, four-tier lockers 1.5 feet (45.7 cm.) high, and so on. Standard features often vary according to the number of tiers: single-tier lockers usually include a shelf about a foot (roughly 30 cm.) from the top, and a hanging rail (sometimes with one or two hooks) immediately underneath that, at the top of the large compartment beneath the shelf; two- or three-tier lockers usually lack the shelf, but include the hanging rail; lockers with four or more tiers usually have none of these fittings, but consist of just the bare compartment.

Unclaimed property will be held by the Operator for 48 hours after the event and will accrue overtime storage charges as listed above. Unclaimed items will be released only after all overtime storage charges due have been paid in full. If any unclaimed items remain Operator’s possession after this 48 hour period, the property will be considered abandoned and items may be, without further notice, donated to a charity, sold to cover unpaid rental fees and administrative costs or otherwise disposed of in Operator’s sole discretion. Accessing and using the lockers and facilities provided is your consent and acceptance of ALL of the terms and conditions concerning the facilities, lockers and supplied lock and combination. The terms and condition include those set forth below and all rules, hours of use and other terms and conditions posted at the facility or in conjunction with the event.
The Operator (including employees, agents, and/or contractors of the Operator, the event and the venue) and/or law enforcement officials may inspect any and all items before they are stored in a locker or the facility and may, in their sole discretion, refuse to permit storage any items that may cause a risk and/or nuisance to the Operator, other users, the storage facility, the venue or the event.
Recreational Sports offers a variety of spaces available for open recreation use. Open recreation is defined as use of existing equipment and facility spaces for self-directed activities by individuals or small groups of no more than 4 individuals at any given time. Open recreation participants must adhere to all facility policies and procedures which includes allowing other participants to join in the activity or use of the space. Participation in open recreation is not structured, organized or teams/groups of 5 or more. Events or activities for groups of 5 or more which require use of a space must be scheduled and approved in advance by Recreational Sports staff. Any activity (by individuals or groups) which includes coaching/instruction or music/amplified sound must also be scheduled and approved in advance by Recreational Sports staff. “In many cases, they’re [homeless] building things like little shanty towns, bringing furniture in and camping out. There have been incidents at night where there have been brawls or loud arguments happening at 3, 4 a.m. waking people up. I do know that several neighbors have complained that they have found human waste in their yards,” said Romero.
Teaming up with the Saint Francis Center, Denver is also planning on adding 200 more storage spaces at the organization’s employment service center, located near the city’s capital building. The contract between the city of Denver and the Saint Francis Center will start on June 1 and with $130,000 for the first year of storage space. After that, the center will be given $100,000 a year if the contract continues.
Towel Service is available to purchase throughout the year at a cost of $4/month or $16/Semester. Please see the Service Center to purchase Towel Service. The Service Center accepts cash (bills no larger than $20), Ram Cash, credit (visa/mastercard), and check (with valid driver's license). Towel Service can only be purchased through payroll deduction if purchased in conjunction with and for the same length as a locker or membership. This service allows you to check out up to three full size shower towels at one time.
Day use lockers are available throughout the facility and are the lockers that have hooks on them. Day use lockers are first come first serve each day. It is recommend that members bring their own lock (or purchase one from the service center for $7) to secure their belongings. Day use lockers must be cleaned out and the lock removed each night before closing. Items left overnight will result in the lock being cut and the items being logged in the lost and found.
In schools without lockers, students are sometimes provided with two complete sets of textbooks, one set being kept at school for use in class, and the other being kept at home for referring to for homework, thus limiting the amount of heavy carrying that would otherwise be required without having lockers to store them in between classes. However, research has shown an increase in the incidence of back injuries in some students, which has been directly attributed to the lack of lockers for storing books in, thus forcing students to spend more time carrying heavy loads of books in backpacks.
The storage lockers were a “pilot,” the kind of small test that city government frequently uses to test a new or controversial idea. The city offered up the lockers for individuals to use for months-long stretches. At the time, city officials warned that “misuse of the lockers, vandalism, or other unanticipated results,” could force them to cancel the project.
